Course Outline

Caring for a parent who can no longer live independently or needs specialized in-home assistance or residential care can be very stressful. It involves emotional and physical challenges for both the elderly parent and usually middle-aged caregiver.

This workshop explores the main issues facing an adult child caring for parents. It also explores the many challenges facing the caregiver in balancing work, home, and elder care responsibilities while managing their own wellbeing.

  • Why elder care is a growing national health priority
  • Solutions to common eldercare situations
  • Self-care strategies
